They are changing the way windowed mode works. Or manually navigating through the task manager UI (ctrl shift esc, shift tab, left arrow, tab, down arrow, delete, enter) to kill the game without killing your PC. I use a kill script (taskkill war3.exe) for this, configured on a global hotkey (via *.bat.lnk) In case windows fails to recover from such a driver crash, you can still recover your potentially lost work terminate war3 without allowing yourself to be forced into rebooting your whole machine.
